Getting out of it is like hacking your way to the top of a jungle canopy. You are often carrying tons of unneeded baggage, your blade might be dulled by many years on the jungle floor, and you might have people down there screaming at you for climbing. The hardest part is that you can't let go of your baggage or stop listening, until you get to the top. Even when you have reached the top, you can't even enjoy the fresh air because you have grown so used to the suffocating humidity of the jungle. The reason that deconstruction feels this way is because, [[Working through trauma can involve of a lot of letting go]] and [[Sometimes we can't grow until we change our environment]]. Whether you are still trying to be a [[Christianity|Christian]] or not, if you are still seeped in church [[Culture]] and surrounded by close-minded people you won't be able to fully deconstruct. ^[This doesn't have to be the case but it is right now: [[The church will fail if christians keep aligning themselves with hate instead of love]]] [[Faith can be a useful tool for grounding yourself]], because [[Christianity]] answers [[The three main questions of life]]. This means you may not have grappled with the fact that [[Knowledge of an unjust world is painful]] without the trump card of salvation and heaven. Because [[Christianity]] is often taught from [[childhood]], it can be very hard to comprehend a world without a plan, without a creator, and without purpose. ^[This is why [[Religious concepts are often too powerful for a child's mind]] and [[Worldviews should be open ended and adaptive]]] You're going to feel lost an confused (and have quite a few existential crisis) but afterwards you will be able to have a new perspective on the world. [[It's always worth it to work through trauma]], but that doesn't mean that we will not feel lost and confused. [[Deconstructing your faith can feel like constructing a puzzle that you haven't seen before]] ### <hr class="footnote"/> **Status**:: #EVER/GREEN *edited 7:35 AM - July 08, 2022* **Topics**:: [[Christianity]], [[worldview]], [[self-actualization]]
